Jim was one of the four co-founders of Rock Paper Shotgun, together with Kieron Gillen, Alec Meer and John Walker. He wrote for the site between 2007-2014, with a particular focus on online games such as EVE Online, first-person shooters such as Stalker, and video game terrain.
He is the author of This Gaming Life: Travels in Three Cities, a book about how online gaming culture is manifesting in different parts of the world. He is also the co-founder of video game studio Big Robot, the creators of Sir, You Are Being Hunted and The Signal From Tölva.
