Assassin's Creed Odyssey Phokis: how to complete the side quests

As the first big place you visit on your odyssey, there's a ton more things to do in Phokis. Not least of which are the various side quests that have you diving to find pirate treasure, or making an elixir for a particularly excitable old lady. This guide will go over the main side quests for Phokis and how to complete them.

Crewless

On the beach in Pilgrim’s Landing, Captain Gelon of the Shark’s Tooth is missing her crew and ship. You’ll be asked to find a crew member called Gyke. Follow the coastline towards the east and you’ll eventually come across a shipwreck with two sharks circling it It’s just to the east of the Bulis Military Camp. Kill the sharks and hunt around for Gyke’s armband and the treasure below.
You’ll also need to invade the military camp for the rest of the treasure from the ship. Once you’ve finished, return to Gelon to let her know the bad news. You can offer for her to join your crew if you wish.

A Pirate’s Life

On the Isle of Thisvi, there’s a small shipwreck on the beach. Tekton will ask you to help his brother. Grab your ship and head east of the island to find an even smaller one called Pirate Island. You'll probably come across some resistance when sailing, so make sure you upgrade your ship. More on this in our Assassin's Creed Odyssey sailing guide. After killing the pirates, rescue the man in the cell and head to a safe location. Sadly he isn’t going to make it, so head back to the ship and report the bad news to Tekton. He’ll join your crew.

Age is Just a Number

Auxesia will ask for bear scrotum and deer tongue for an elixir to give to her husband to reignite his “vigour”. These aren’t terribly difficult to find, so just head north and kill one bear and one deer. Return to Auxesia and you have the option to bed her instead of her husband. He’ll be surprisingly grateful.

Photios’s Pre-Tirement

Photios is an old friend in need of your help tracking down a couple of priests and a sapphire. They’re located in a cave not too far west from your position. It’s in a small mountain Head into the cave and find some bandits to kill. One will have a note saying that there is a sale at Desphina Fort for the sapphire. Head there and be very careful as the fort is well guarded. Use Ikaros to find the sapphire, then grab it and return to Photios.

Helping a Healer

You’ll come across a physician named Lykaon who would like five mandrake herbs in a nearby stream. The stream is southeast of your position and northeast of Kirhha. You’re looking for small plants with gray-green leaves on them. They’re not a massive distance away from the stream, but they are guarded by wolves. Kill them and harvest the leaves, then return to Lykaon. Once they’re ready he’ll ask you to deliver them to his patients in the Chora of Delphi. He’ll tell you where to go. As you deliver them, it becomes apparent that all is not well with Lykaon’s grandmother and that he’s worried about her. After talking to him, he’ll ask you to follow him.

Sins of the Past

You’ll begin by following Lykaon to his grandmother’s house. You’ll find his sister at the hosue instead who says that she was taken away by strange men. Investigate the area for clues; namely the bracelet inside of the house and the small fire pit outside and to the left. There is also a man to talk to. Go back to Lykaon to report that bandits have captured her.

The Unkindest Trust

Your mission is now to free Praxithea - Lykaon’s grandmother. From the previous investigation, you ascertained that she is being held in a farmhouse near the centre of the Sacred Lands of Apollo. It’s not far from Lykaon’s grandmother’s house, just up a hill to the west. There aren’t many enemies here, so take them out and free Praxithea. She’ll run down the hill, so catch up to her. You’ll have a choice as to whether she lives, dies by her son’s hands, or by yours.

That's all the side quests for this region. Head on back to our Assassin's Creed Odyssey side quests guide for more information about another quest-line or another region's set of side quests.
