After boarding the Valor, turn left and head into the Barracks. Continue through to the door on the other side and turn right down the corridor. Continue to the end and head into the Briefing Room to find a Text Log and an Audio Log.

Then, grab the power core from the wall and leave the Briefing Room, before inserting the core into the nearby wall socket. This will power the elevator to your side, which you can use to descend further into the Valor.

How to dispose of the nuclear warhead

Turn left and head into the Torpedo Bay to find a nuclear warhead suspended in the centre of the room. You need to complete a few steps to get rid of the nuke, which we'll explain below, but beware of the exploding Necromorph that enters the room as you start. If it explodes, it will detonate the nuke and cause you to instantly die. You can avoid such a gruesome death by firing at its legs and shoulders to carefully detach the limbs without detonating its explosive sac.

To dispose of the nuke, there are six fuses - three on each side of the warhead - that you must destroy. Then, turn right and look down the small nook to the side of the nuke to find a power core behind some rubble. Grab it with Kinesis, and then insert it into the socket on the opposite side of the room. You can then use the nearby terminal to dispose of the nuke.

How to complete the Shooting Range

After a brief chat with Hammond, head into the Armory. Kill the Necromorph inside, and then head into the Shooting Range. This is an optional area, but if you can complete the Shooting Range without dying, you'll get some items and a Power Node.

To complete the Shooting Range in the Dead Space remake, you must rack up some points by firing at the red targets. The score doesn't actually matter, but killing a few "targets" will cause Necromorphs to flood into the room. You need to kill the enemies that burst in. If you survive, you'll end the lockdown and gain access to some storage lockers that contain ammo, med-packs, and the Power Node mentioned above.

Where to find the Singularity Core

After dealing with the Shooting Range, head back out and continue into the Infirmary. Within, you'll see some lasers spinning very fast in the centre of the room. If you're struck by any lasers, you will die instantly. To get past, you must hit it with a Stasis blast as it spins to the right, and then quickly run past on the left side. Make it past and head through to the Cargo Bay.

Turn right in the Cargo Bay and clear the room of any Necromorphs that appear. When the room is clear, the quarantine will lift, allowing you to enter the Engine Room.

As you enter, you'll spot a lift to the right, next to an empty power socket. On the left, there are flames bursting out of a pipe intermittently. You need to move through the flames, using Kinesis blocks to block the ones that are blasting permanently, and make your way around to get a power core. Then, run back and insert it into the socket, so that you can use the lift to find Hammond.

Watch Hammond through the glass until he sacrifices himself, and then grab the Singularity Core. This will cause the Valor to erupt, with explosions detonating across the ship. You must sprint back through the door behind and run past the lift, instead using the door ahead as a shortcut back to where you first boarded.

When you reach the exit, an explosion will hurtle you into space, which will start a short cutscene in which Isaac boards the USG Ishimura once again.

Isaac is back to safety, kind of, and that signals the end of Chapter 9: Dead on Arrival.
